Counselling is a confidential relationship, providing a safe place in which you can explore any problems, difficulties, concerns or issues which are affecting you, in order to find ways of resolving or coming to terms with them.
Working with a counsellor can also help you to see what changes you might want to make in your life and how you might accept those things that you can’t change.
What to expect
I will do my best to help you find your own answers at your own pace, by working with you in a way that is accepting, sensitive to your needs and respectful of your view of the world. In the counselling room you will not be judged or criticised and neither will you be offered advice.
How to begin
When we meet you can ask any questions you might have about counselling and about how I will work with you, so that you can decide whether it is for you. If we feel that working together will be helpful to you we’ll agree dates and fees for future meetings.
How long, how much
Full sessions last for 55 minutes and are typically arranged at weekly intervals, at a fee of £60 per session for individuals, £65 for couples.
If you would like an initial 30 minute consultation to help you decide whether counselling is what you really want, this can be arranged at a charge of £25.
There is no maximum or minimum number of sessions you can have - each week you decide whether to continue the following week. Some people simply want to come for a few counselling sessions while others may come regularly for many months..
If you’re experiencing difficulties in your relationship with a partner or family member couples counselling offers a space for you both to take a fresh look at how you understand and communicate with each other.
It can help you to check out the assumptions you each make about the other person, looking at each of your needs and how well the relationship is supporting those needs.
Couples sessions are charged at £65.
Please contact me for an initial consultation. I hope to reply within 48 hours.
